Paul Stratford Headshot

Paul Stratford

Field Superintendent

Paul began his painting career at age 16 in New Zealand. Earning a trade certificate in automotive refinishing with an emphasis in hot rods and muscle cars. He then moved to the industrial coatings field in the mining industry of Australia; Supervising a crew of painters for Komatsu in the coal mines of Queensland. That led to opportunities within the coal-seam gas industry, coating pipelines and refineries.  Applying a wide variety of coating systems on some of Australia’s multi-billion dollar gas projects, he moved onto the oil and gas refineries of Western Australia. There he also learned the application and repair of a series of fireproofing coatings, both cementitious and intumescent. During this time he achieved an IRATA level 2 rope access certificate, which opened the door to opportunities in the offshore coatings industry. Working on some of the worlds largest offshore projects at the time, he worked in both Australian and New Zealand waters on semi-submersible platforms, jackups and FPSO facilities. He completed NACE 2 which led to a coatings and insulation inspector position on one of Australia’s largest LNG refineries, completing a coating survey for a five billion dollar remediation project. During all of this, He met his amazing wife and began commuting between the USA and Australia. He finally settled here in Boise and joined the great team at Roe Paint. On his time off he enjoys being with his family and exploring the outdoors of Idaho.
