Is Painter For a Day Right For You? Costs and Coverage Explained

Written by Jud Masters | Jun 13, 2025 2:45:00 PM

Do you have a small paint project that doesn't seem worth calling a whole crew for?

Have you been putting off repainting a room, an accent wall, or some trim because it feels like too small of a job?

Are you looking for a simple way to knock out a few painting tasks in a single day without a drawn-out estimate process?

This is exactly why we offer our Painter for a Day program.

We have over 25 years of experience at Roe Painting. We know that not every project needs a full crew, but everyone still deserves quality, lasting results. Whether you need one painter or two, we designed this service to take the guesswork out of simple paint jobs and give home and business owners a fast, affordable solution without the hassle of full-scale project estimates.

In this article, we'll break down exactly what Painter for a Day includes, how much it costs, and (most importantly) how to know if it's the right fit for your painting needs.

Painter for a Day Pricing: What It Costs and What's Included

Our Painter for a Day program is a flat-rate service designed for smaller painting jobs that can be completed in a single workday. We offer two options depending on the scope and size of your project.

One Painter for a Day: $600 Flat Rate

This option works best for small, single-room projects or tasks that one experienced painter can complete in an 8-hour shift. This might include:

  • Repainting a bedroom or bathroom
  • Touching up trim, doors, or baseboards
  • Painting a few accent walls
  • Fixing scuffs or wear from everyday use

This $600 flat rate includes:

  • One professional painter for up to 8 hours
  • All standard tools, brushes, and equipment
  • Light prep (minimal patching, caulking, taping, masking, etc.)
  • Cleanup at the end of the day

Note: Paint is not included in this price. We're happy to use what you provide or purchase it for you separately, but keep in mind that you want to pay the painter to put paint on the wall, not drive to the paint store for you.  It's best to have the paint and any necessary primer on-site when the painter arrives.

Two Painters for a Day: $1,200 Flat Rate

For slightly larger jobs or when speed is important, our two-painter team can handle more surface area in the same one-day window. This is ideal for:

  • Multiple rooms needing fresh coats
  • Projects with tight timelines (like real estate turnover)
  • Jobs with both wall and trim work involved

The $1,200 flat rate includes:

  • Two professional painters for up to 8 hours
  • All standard painting tools and equipment
  • Light prep and thorough cleanup
  • Coordination with you to maximize productivity in one day

Again, paint is not included, and it's preferable to have it on-site at the start of the project.

What Types of Projects Are a Good Fit for Painter for a Day?

Our Painter for a Day program is ideal for smaller, straightforward jobs that can be handled by one or two painters without complex preparation or coordination. Perfect use cases include:

  • Repainting a bedroom, bathroom, or hallway
  • Touching up baseboards, doors, or trim
  • Painting a feature or accent wall
  • Fixing wear and tear from pets, kids, or everyday use
  • Light drywall patching and repainting in one or two areas
  • Painting exterior surfaces that are showing wear and exposure, but don't require a full paint job

These jobs can typically be completed in 8 hours with minimal disruption to your home. If you don't see your project type listed, just ask!

Projects That Might Qualify (But Let's Talk First)

Some projects could work under this program, but we'd want to talk through them first to be sure they can be done in a day. Examples:

  • Multiple rooms with minor prep work
  • Stairways (if access is simple and cutting in work is limited)
  • Larger exterior touch-ups like full trim boards or small sections of siding
  • Rental turnovers with limited repaint needs

In these cases, we may recommend two painters or suggest a different service based on access, condition, and prep needs. And if you don't see your project type listed, just ask!

When Painter for a Day is Not the Right Fit

To keep this program efficient and cost-effective, we recommend going with our full-service painting estimates if:

  • You need drywall repair beyond light patching
  • The space requires extensive prep, caulking, or sanding
  • The project includes cabinets, detailed trim, or larger areas of exterior siding
  • You're painting more than two large rooms

These are better suited for a dedicated crew with a broader project timeline.

Here's a breakdown to help you decide if Painter for a Day is the right service for your project:

Yes! Ideal Fit

The Best Budget Painting Solution

At the end of the day, it can be hard to find a professional painting solution for smaller projects, especially if you've been told they're "too small" to quote or not worth a painter's time.
