Cabinet Refinishing

Cabinet refinishing has become a popular option for renovations for a variety of reasons. Roe Paint loves the trend to make old things new again, it's great for the wallet and the environment. Roe Paint offers cabinet refinishing services that can transform your worn out cabinets into a beautiful new kitchen. These projects are great when the bones of the cabinets are good but they need a facelift.

Why Refinish

Refinishing cabinets can change the color and finish of the cabinets but can't change the style, it's a great option for sprucing up a kitchen you already love. Solid wood cabinets can last decades when cared for properly and refinishing cabinets helps to cut costs on a remodel. Overtime cabinets chip, get dinged and show other signs of wear, refinishing cabinets may be as simple as repairing the damage and adding back fresh finish. If you don't like the color of existing cabinets you can also stain them to give them a new tone. Whitewash, espresso, cherry or any other color can be achieved with refinishing.

Painting Cabinets

Finishing cabinets doesn't just mean getting them stained, you can also have cabinets painted for a beautiful finish product. Painting cabinets is another way to freshen them up and give older cabinets new life. Some homeowners choose to paint cabinets as an easy solution to a kitchen that is dated. When painting cabinets the sky's the limit, there are so many colors and people have started getting bolder and bolder with cabinetry colors. It's also in style to do a two toned kitchen with different colored uppers and lowers or an island in a complimentary color.

Process

The process for refinishing or repainting cabinets is a long one but remodels are rarely simple. The first step is to remove doors and drawers. One the doors are removed the original finish or paint can be removed. Removing the finish requires heavy duty chemicals and lots of fresh air. Then damaged areas like chips and dings can be addressed, filled with wood filler and sanded smooth. After all the damage is addressed the sealer can be applied, this may be part of the staining process depending on the system being used. After sealing and staining the finish coats are applied. The finish coats are the protective coat on the cabinets that protect them from daily use. Depending on the current state of the cabinets sanding and stripping may be needed to remove imperfections and existing finish. The process takes a few days and lots of attention to detail to yield beautiful finished results.

Licensed, Insured, and Bonded

Using unlicensed or uninsured workers passing themselves off as “contractors” can leave you as a homeowner liable for injured workers or end up with damages that are not covered. Even some contractors carry only the minimum required insurance and pay their workers “under the table.”

Roe Painting is fully licensed in all cities, states, and counties we operate in. We carry worker’s compensation insurance on all of our employees. We also carry full coverage liability insurance well above the legal requirements and industry standards, and we are bonded. These are standards we’ve upheld for 23 years and are in line with our core values of honesty and accountability.
